-Explain the respiration cycle
The learner will be able to:
Explain the overall role of the Respiratory system in relation to the other systems of the body
Define Respiration to cover:
- Internal respiration
- External respiration / gaseous exchange
Describe the structure and explain the function of the Respiratory system to
cover:
-Trachea -Bronchus
-Bronchioles -Terminal Bronchioles
-Alveoli -Pleura (Visceral and Parietal)
-The lungs -Diaphragm
Be able to label a diagram illustrating the above
Explain the chemical and nervous control of respiration
Identify the muscles used in respiration
Explain the cycle of respiration to cover:
-Inspiration
-Expiration
-Pause
Describe the following Diseases and Disorders:
-Bronchitis
-Asthma
-Pulmonary Tuberculosis
-Emphysema
