Bali’s famous Mount Agung is considered by the Balinese people to be the “Mother Mountain”. They believe she balances and grounds their lives to bring harmony. The basalt stones used in this massage course come from the rivers and streams surrounding Mount Agung.
Many ancient civilizations exploited the medicinal and spiritual powers of stones for therapeutic purposes and for centuries stones have been used for healing in diverse cultures in a multitude of ways, using various different stones.
When placed on the body’s key energy points, the stones’ deeply penetrating heat reduces tension, and balances the spirit, body and mind. This treatment is very relaxing and great for working at a deeper level into tight or sore muscles.
Several different styles of massage have developed using warm or hot stones, cold stones and crystals, all of which have different potential benefits for clients.
