Lomi Lomi has been described as similar to a nurturing, slow flow wave given its hypnotic use of the hand, arm and elbow for the release of tension. It is an intense modality as the mental attitude is just as important as mastering the sequencing. It is very much rooted in Hawaii’s aloha mentality where spirituality and balanced emotions affect the outcome of this bodywork. Lomi Lomi is popping up more and more at day and destination spas globally because of this deep holistic connection.
Your Tutor will plan 5 - 1 hour Schedules where you will be working together through your course. Your Tutor is available Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm Bali time. We have many students in different time zones. If it is difficult for you to plan with your Tutor. She will ask you to take Videos of your practical work.

Course Description
The early Polynesian settlers brought their own form of massage and like a canoe plant, it evolved to become something uniquely Hawaiian. It was practiced by everyone, from child to chief. As an indigenous practice that evolved over hundreds of years in isolated valleys throughout the island chain.
In the past, the art of Lomi Lomi Nui massage was intended only for chosen ones. Performed in temples and passed down from generation to generation by Hawaiian shaman priests called Kahunas. who spent their life practicing the healing arts. Kahuna's (healers) were taught to use thumbs, hands, ulnas and elbow's to massage. It wasn't uncommon to have hot rocks placed on injuries or have the Kahuna walk on your back. Kahuna's were even known to use a mild form of hypnosis, instilling feelings of well-being. They believed they could transfer their own vital energy into a person who was sick.
