Anatomy & Physiology
Anatomy & Physiology, and Health and Safety are prerequisites for all Endorsed Courses.
In this anatomy course with physiology, whether completed at the Bali International Spa Academy or on-line, students will receive a thorough understanding of all aspects of anatomy and physiology, including the skin, cells and tissue as well as the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, lymphatic, digestive, excretory, nervous and reproductive systems. There is a lot of content covered during the five days, so students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the basics before arrival.
This is a solid foundation course for Bali BISA, VTCT and CIBTAC courses for those whom are serious about becoming a professional spa therapist. It is a pre-requisite for some courses, including the BISA sports massage course and all CIBTAC Endorsed classes.
Many spas globally now require certification in anatomy and physiology to enable the quality of service demanded by today’s spa enthusiasts.
Balinese Massage
Students learn the time-honored natural ingredients and bodywork methods passed down through generations. Bali BISA was the CIBTAC Centre of the Year 2015 and a finalist in 2014, so students have a great deal of confidence in the standard of training and care. It is widely considered one of Asia’s premier spa, massage, aesthetics and wellness training institutes.
Balinese Massage is rapidly becoming one of the world’s most popular treatments given its centuries old traditions that have nurtured the Balinese people’s ability to retain their healthy inner glow and radiant skin. It consists of a combination of different techniques from various cultures that the Balinese people have adapted to create their own unique style. Formerly known as the ‘Spice Islands’, many merchant ships brought their own massage and healing traditions to Java’s royal palaces. From the Indian Hindu influence, Ayurveda healing techniques for massage, oils and herbs were introduced. From China came Buddhism and acupressure techniques. It currently incorporates 12 strokes which makes it so fascinating to study, give and receive.
